Each book in the series that I read I say "Perfect, fantastic" etc. This is even better than that. It's seriously sinister, sexy, suspenseful. The characters are even deeper than before, more connected and yet still that small air of professional space. The laughs are still there, even when they are tinged with a little pain. The plot/s are well thought out, well, no, so superbly detailed so that at the end of that section you feel almost out of breath. You can put it down but I will guarantee you will not wait long before going right back to it. An amazing story. I could go on forever but it would keep me from reading it again. Good ones you will always want more than one reading. This whole series is just "Perfect, fantastic!" If you haven't read the series yet, do it now. Each one is a stand alone book but you will love all of them, the characters are every bit that appealing.
This book did not flow as smoothly as others in this series. The wedding characters and storyline were left floating. If it had kept to the kidnapping or the wedding it would have made more sense. There just seemed to be a lot lost. Not enough info about new characters in the kidnapping. And existing wedding characters needed more time spent fleshing out their characters.
I enjoyed reading this story. I learned so much about the characters. It will be exciting to read the next book.
I have read all 11 books and can't wait for #12. I enjoy the character development and the humor of "the bookkeeper secret agent" and all her travails. It is not PG rated but a great read for action minded adults!
Superb . Kane wants a commitment from aydan. In the mist of all this she has several contract out on her , kane and hellhound and Tom her neighbor and spider r trying to keep her safe.
Under the guise of pure entertainment, there is something much more deep and meaningful being expressed about love, and living through traumas and growing from it rather letting it destroy you.
Why can the protagonist, Aydan Kelly sleep with the greatest sense of security when in Arnie’s arms, and be panic-stricken when in Kane’s arms? She loves them both - probably equally well. It poses such delicious dilemmas. We all have experienced the simultaneous attraction and desperate need for autonomy in our relationships and I have never seen it expressed so well.
I hope Aydan never has to decide between the two men because of the tension it creates, and the contrast between the two men is half of the fun.
I love Diane Hendron's writing and these characters, but --- Ayden is way too whiny. It worked in the first few novels, helped build her character and made sense. However, in this novel, all she did was whine, self-talk, and feel sorry for herself. It's time she focused on other things, as she did in the last novel. I look forward to reading more, but please, reduce the whining.
Aydan rocks, complicated, grown up, human. Delightfully free of a lot of biases you see in other books, maybe because the author is female and Canadian? I have been laughing out loud, taking my tablet everywhere, gone to bed late, basically totally hooked. It’s written for grown ups, highly entertaining, both funny and keeping, me at least, at the edge of my seat. It’s action, thriller, crime, humour...
If you are looking for cozy grandma church on Sunday mystery books, this is maybe not your cup of tea. If you find the description following the series interesting, and maybe even middle-aged yourself, this might be gold. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Aydan and her antics.
Not often I binge read, but here I just got hooked. What a lovely concept eBook’s. All 12 books in a week, so glad it finally rained here lol. In wait of the next book I will go back and reread them again, this time taking my time.
